I developed a “Biohacking app” in less than 15 minutes today…

Scrolling my favourite source of daily news today my curiosity was caught by an article mentioning a new AI tool, developed by Amazon, and currently free to use.

That tool named PartyRock (https://partyrock.aws/)

It’s worth mentioning that I do not like AI so much, although (I confess) I am a regular user of ChatGPT, mainly to correct grammar or reformulating some stuff (I’m not a native English speaker and no, this article did not pass the review).

In this case, the main point was: “Build an AI app?” “btw, I love the colors and the interface (really strict personal opinion here), let’s give it a try”

Signing up it’s really easy, via Google, Amazon or Apple, and the interface it’s minimalistic.

The foundation, the motor running behind it, it’s Amazon Bedrock.

Amazon Bedrock is a fully managed service that makes foundation models (FMs) from Amazon and leading AI companies available on AWS, but you don’t need to know anything about that to start developing your first app.

A quick view of the few examples on the landing page and straight to the app creation.

Being a wellness enthusiast and a “biohacker” myself, my first idea started with having a “Biohacker’ Routine” built up for each type of personal goal (longevity, brain performance, physical performance, sleep and recovery etc) and that’s where I did start.

The first Widget I add

The concept is really simple here: create an “input” widget (which is the “Goal” one in my case) and then create other widgets where the AI can elaborate answers and processes according to some defined rules.

So, I added “Routine” as AI-controlled text, self-generating based on the initial prompt added by the User on the Goal widget.

For merely aesthetic purposes, AI is also generating an Image based on the Goal prompt.

Lastly, I did want the app to dive deep into a few sections of the Routine: I did add more widgets this time, each one based on the AI-generated content in the Routine widget and specific to Diet/Meal plan, Exercise, Supplements an, why not, a Mindfulness prompt for self-reflection.

The rest of the app

Before adding the Disclaimer (not sure for how long my app will remain visible), I added a Chatbot as well, able to reply to any additional question from the User.

I did mention my app is “Public”, that’s why you can reach for it using this link, but any app you create is “Private” by default and accessible to you only.

Private apps can be made Public quite easily

As I mentioned, the use of PartyRock is currently free, based on a free trial and a credit system. In my case, the app you can use today is occupying 1.8% of Credit (not sure what does count toward it but I assume it’s based on the number of Widgets).

PartyRock Credits are so far so good for a free trial

Another interesting button is “Remix” on the top right corner: this button allows Users to copy the app and customize it further, in a sort of Community collaborating platform. There is a set of apps ready to be customized with a pre-set of widgets available here.

Set of featured apps ready for a “DJ” Remix!

Any change on the app shall be then saved to be published again, this happens in real-time.

The Future?

Honestly, don’t know. I could not find a plan so far, so please, if you do, reply to this article keeping it updated with the latest. Thanks in advance.
